Hartley & Worstenholme was founded in 1874 and, although our roots are based in Castleford, the firm has progressed to providing services to clients locally, nationally and internationally. The firm moved to its present premises at 20 Bank Street in 1986, having opened offices at 10a Gillygate, Pontefract in 1964.
In recent years, the firm has undergone a period of sustained change to prepare it for the challenges of the 21st Century. With modernised offices, state of the art technology and the recruitment of high calibre staff, we are ideally placed to provide quality legal services in an increasingly competitive environment.
Hartley & Worstenholme’s aim is to provide the highest possible quality service and a standard of care second to none.
Our conveyancing clients deal not with departments of title checkers, but with individuals who are positively encouraged to develop full understanding of each client’s specific requirements.
Our litigators’ determination to obtain maximum benefit for our clients never prevents us from being friendly and approachable.
Our family and matrimonial department advises and assists clients with a view to resolving disputes with the minimum long term financial and emotional damage
Members of our wills, probate and trusts department never let the need to deal with complex areas of tax and law impede their desire to offer a caring and complete service to clients.
Our objective at all times is to meet our clients’ requirements with positive, pro-active and progressive legal advice. For all departments this means explaining things clearly, communicating promptly and resolving cases as quickly as possible.
