Chris has over 30 years’ experience in commercial law matters. He has developed a wide network of clients and contacts and consequently acts on behalf of a large number of local individuals and companies as well as several national and international organisations. Chris is also a Notary Public, one of few in the Yorkshire region, which is an asset to the international companies he represents.

Chris acts on behalf of a number of farmers and land owners with extensive agricultural portfolios.

Away from the legal environment Chris is an ordained Anglican priest and, as a member of the Ecclesiastical Law Society, can provide valuable insight into ecclesiastical law matters. Chris is also a trustee of various local and national charities.

Following a career in banking Jonathan joined the firm in 2004, qualified into the commercial department as an assistant Solicitor and was appointed Partner in 2010 and Managing Partner in 2017.  Jonathan is also a Notary Public, one of a few in the North who is able to serve a number of clients requiring notarial services.

Jonathan specialises in all aspects of Land/Property Law, dealing mainly with commercial property work where Jonathan has developed a sound following due to his ability to advise and negotiate complex lease and business acquisition transactions in a constantly changing marketplace.

Jonathan acts for a number of clients with large commercial property portfolios, advising on sales and purchases; all aspects of leases and lease renewals (both landlord and tenant); Authorised Guarantee Agreements; business sales and purchases and partnership agreements.

Jonathan also manages a residential property caseload and prides himself on his ability to deal with matters quickly and efficiently.

Jonathan also sits on the board of a number of local voluntary organisations.

Practicing in property law since 2001 and qualifying as a solicitor in 2007, Victoria has extensive expertise in a wide range of property transactions. Victoria is experienced in residential property including sales & purchases (freehold & leasehold), transfers of equity, re-mortgages, new build transactions (for developer or buyer), equity release, the drafting of complex legal documents and other miscellaneous property matters. Victoria also has experience in agricultural and commercial property.

Victoria specialises in shared ownership leases and is on the panel of solicitors recommended by a local Housing Association. Customer relations are extremely important to Victoria who prides herself on delivering an efficient and personal service. She is highly regarded for her dedication to each and every job in hand and is widely acknowledged for surpassing expectations. Tim works across both the family and private client departments. Having previously worked as a paralegal at the firm, he qualified as a solicitor in 2016.

Tim works across all areas of the family department and he has a particular interest in cases involving children, both private and public disputes. Tim conducts his own advocacy whenever possible, including contest hearings and final hearings.
Tim deals with matters where there are disputes between parents or other significant people in children’s lives, as well as public law matters where social services are involved. Tim frequently represents parents in proceedings brought by the local authority including cases where children are being removed or are potentially being removed. Tim also assists client’s seeking to challenge local authority assessments and has acting in cases including applications to discharge care orders or seeking leave to oppose adoption. Tim also has experience in dealing with clients with additional needs.
Tim also frequently deals with cases concerning domestic abuse, including non-molestation orders and occupation orders.

Tim prides himself of being straightforward and friendly with clients. Tim became a partner in 2018.
